John Dehner - March 1955
Uncle John Dehner died in March 1955. His son Leon was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA.
Leon and Dad (John's brother-in-law) took turns driving non-stop to Brockton, Montana for the services.
Norman went along for his first view of the legendary Eastern Montana. The car spun a half-circle in the packed snow
of Hwy 2 at the south edge of Glacier Park, into a snow bank beside the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.

He and Norman took a bus from Culbertson south to Sidney and the homestead area for a 2-day visit.
